Start with a shared service that interrupts work when unavailable
Identify an important application or infrastructure service, its responsible owner and the systems that support it. A firm may rely on a mixture of local servers and externally hosted applications. Separate what your team can monitor directly from what requires evidence from a service provider. A reachable public endpoint is useful context, but it does not prove that every authenticated workflow inside an application succeeds.
Collect the operational information you need
Use a supported Site Edge for authorized private systems and review the discovered resources before enabling collection. Limit the scope to useful operational observations. Keep infrastructure health separate from the contents of client documents or employee activity. Source permissions and workspace roles should match the team’s responsibilities rather than relying on a shared administrator account.
Turn an incident into a clear support request
Record the affected service and period, then review related infrastructure observations and collector freshness. Share the appropriate report with authorized people using the same time range and timezone. Define who contacts an application provider, the connectivity supplier or the internal IT team. If a system has no recent data, show the gap so that an absence of alerts is not presented as evidence of availability.
Review the operating arrangement as well as the software
During evaluation, verify that the selected assets are current and that a second authorized operator can follow an investigation. Review how a known test event and its recovery appear in reports. Decide which tasks the firm will retain and which services it wants AOT to provide. Implementation assistance, response hours and ongoing responsibilities are agreed separately from a software trial.
